Barack Obama in The O.C.

Sen. Barack Obama, who is running for President, will be here in Newport Beach on Sunday, July 13, 2008. He will be the guest of honor at a $2,300-per-person fundraiser at Balboa Bay Club. It would be verrrry interesting to be there. Surfergrlee is going to try to see whether she can get in.

The O.C. is predominantly Republican , with some 700,000 registered voters under the GOP banner. There are few African-Americans in Orange County, around 2 percent of the population. Prominent African-Americans include the Chancellor of the University of California, Irvine, Michael Drake.

Mom's funeral will be held Feb. 23 I hope Heaven is like a ringside seat next to the ocean, smelling the salty tang, hearing the susurrus of the rolling surf while lolling in a lounger, dredging sand between one's toes.
